President’s Message:

I would like to commence by congratulating the past president, Josie Veit, for her dedicated service together with the empowered and dynamic Executive Board. The past organizational two years have reached enormous accomplishments. The Executive Board’s commitment to advancing the PNAGSL’s goals has not gone unnoticed. I wish Josie the best in her next level of service as part of the Advisory Council.

It is with great pleasure and honor to be elected to serve as President of the Philippine Nurse Association of Greater St. Louis. Together with the Executive Board, we are looking ahead to our two years of service by focusing on what’s next, what else we can do more and how we can make this organization successful and fully capable of serving our colleagues and community.

One area I am specically eager to see is to rekindle and focus on the next generation of talents. We have been low in numbers of nurses joining our association. I want to resume tackling the challenge to increase the membership. Let us strengthen our professional support systems. Let’s work to create pathways to success for these incoming talents that are signicant to take the wheel for the future of Filipino-American nurses.

In this constantly evolving world of service, I would like to invite my colleagues to join us. Let’s support and take care of each other and, with shared collaboration and leadership, let the mantra “CARE that goes BEYOND the NORM” be our inspiration and guide us to an impactful success to the community we serve. I am confident that the Executive Board as the governing body and the members of PNAGSL will continue to be excellently productive, engaging in our service in the upcoming years.

As most people in the great state of Missouri, I am a “Show me” type of person. I am looking forward to connecting with everyone and I hope that our hard working dedication to serve will be reected completely this term.

Sincerely yours,

Alice Quiao Torregosa, MSN, FNP-BC, BSN, RN

In the place outside of our native land
In the land of great opportunity
Here comes PNAA
We stand for the world to see

We're involved in all the disciplines
We're educators and administrators
We're the best hands-on nurses
Responsible, passionate and true.

Chorus:
Let the whole world know
Shine PNAA Shine
Stand proud, tall and strong
Shine PNAA Shine

We will show our dedication
Our commitment to the community
Our excellence to our profession
We dedicate this to the next generation.

Chorus:
Let the whole world know
Shine PNAA Shine
Stand proud, tall and strong
Shine PNAA Shine
Let the whole world know
Shine PNAAShine
Stand proud, tall and strong
Shine PNAA Shine
